Redruth Rugby Football Club is proud to announce that the club have been awarded £50,000 funding to support the installation of new floodlights at the Recreation ground — a major upgrade that will significantly enhance the club’s training and playing facilities.

This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The funding was allocated through Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Programme, which is part of the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme.

This funding will help the club enhance the facilities and expand its outreach, particularly with younger people in the area. Sport plays a crucial role in youth development, offering physical health benefits, improving mental wellbeing, and fostering valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

The Club’s Executive Committee commented “The club’s aim is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can thrive, learn, and grow both on and off the pitch. The investment will also enable us to offer more community-led events, games and training sessions, plus family friendly activities, reinforcing the club’s position as a hub for local engagement. This grant represents a significant step forward for Redruth RFC and the wider community, and we are incredibly grateful for the support that is making this possible.”
