It has been a long time coming, some 25 years to be precise but this Sunday a Redruth ladies side will be back in in league action. Their first game in NC 3 South West is at home where they entertain St Austell Valkyries.

Last season saw them competing in the Inner Warriors series, the stepping stone into the full league system.

St Austell came fourth n a six team NC3 South West league last season. This season the league has been expanded to eight sides with the addition of Helston and Plymouth Albion along with Redruth. With more ladies sides being formed in Cornwall, the future looks healthy.

Camborne Women, who played in NC3 last season, have moved up to NC2 so we will have to wait awhile for a league derby.

Kick-off is a 2-30 so come down and cheer them on in their first league encounter.

Referee Steve Bartlett.
