Redruth 2s are on their travels this coming weekend with a trip to the seaside to face Torquay in a Counties 1 Western West game. The 2s will be looking to bounce back from last week’s 52-26 home defeat by a powerful Kingsbridge side. The Reds travel in 11th place in the table but have games in hand over many of the other clubs in the league.
Torquay are currently in 5th place having won two from their first five starts. In doing so they have scored 198 points, the second highest total in the league so far. Last week they recorded a 50-27 victory over visiting St Ives.
Torquay have played on their current ground since 1904 and it has barely changed since then, being seen as a great example of grounds from the Edwardian period. In 1913 Torquay were suspended by the RFU after being involved in an attempt to introduce Rugby League to the South West.
