On Saturday the 2's continue their quest to win the league when they host Camborne School of Mines RFC with a 2.30pm kick-off.
The 'School' are having a tough season and so far have only the one win to their name out of 18 fixtures, this coming at Bodmin by 33-22. Recently though they have come a lot closer to notching up win number two with narrow defeats in their last three matches.
Back in December the Reds won the encounter at Penryn by 50-0.
The Redruth 2nds had a blank weekend last Saturday with the scheduled game against St.Just being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. With the forecast for the remainder of the week not looking too bad, fingers crossed for Saturday.
The Reds remain in top spot 3 points clear of Saltash RFC and it looks increasingly lightly that the league will be decided when the two clubs face each other on the 23rd March at Saltash. A supporters coach is running to this fixture but it is now full contact Theresa Parr on 07919 141590 to go on the waiting list.
At present the Reds leading scorer Dean Wills is also the leagues leading scorer with 280 points and he is also the leagues leading try scorer with 16, Mike Allen (who is the leagues second highest try scorer) is not far behind on 14.
Well done to Jacob Chapple, Dean Wills, Finn Holt and Rhys Richards on being selected for Cornwall U20 to play Devon on Sunday.
Post match stay on in the clubhouse to watch the England v Ireland match on the big screen and plasma TV's.
Referee: Danny Robbins
Look out for team news on Friday.
