On Saturday the 2's travel to the far west to take on St.Just RFC the most westerly rugby club in the land who are playing regularly.
St.Just RFC is a relatively young club only being formed in 1967 but they have a very nice pitch and clubhouse at Tregeseal and uniquely offer camping at their ground.
St.Just who were promoted last season have so far won 3 of their 8 matches. Their 3 wins coming over Newquay Hornets 22-0, Illogan Park 27-7 and a HWO against Camborne School of Mines. This leaves them in 8th place on 13 points.
The Redruth 2nds continued their winning ways with a very impressive 68-17 home win against Veor RFC last Saturday keeping up their 100% record. This keeps them in 2nd place on a maximum 35 points, 4 behind leaders Saltash although I believe that the Saltash total should be 1 point more as they have scored 4 try bonus points in every game.
At present their leading scorer Dean Wills is also the leagues leading scorer with 134 points and Jayden Oakes is leagues highest try scorer with 9.
Date for your diary: The big showdown against league leaders Saltash is on December 2nd, be there to support the young Reds.
Referee: Ben Sanders- Crook
Look out for team news on Friday.
