Redruth 2s get a final run out this coming Saturday with a friendly away game at Perranporth before the delayed start of their league season.
Perranporth play in Counties 2 Cornwall and last season finished in 5th place with 14 wins from 22 games. Reds 2s last played the Brewers back in 2023/24 winning 17-13 away and a more decisive 34-17 victory at home, a season in which the Reds won promotion.
Perranporth were formed in 1962 after a South African named Don Russell, who had played for the South African Air Force during WWII, took over a local coffee bar and discovered there was no rugby in the town. They had no kit but managed to pull something together and defeat Truro in their first ever game. Their gold and green strip refects the national colours of their founder
