On Saturday Redruth are pleased to welcome to Hellfire Corner, now familiar visitors, Worthing Raiders. The Raiders are usually followed by a friendly and vocal travelling support so they shouldn’t feel alone at the Rec!
The Raiders season started well with two straight wins but then seven defeats on the bounce left them in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle. An excellent away win though at Clifton re-ignited their season and they are currently in a respectable 7th position with 48 points.
Last Saturday the Raiders lost away at Taunton Titans by 40–32, Titans no doubt still stinging from their defeat in Mediterranean like conditions at the Rec just before Christmas!

In previous season’s results between the two sides have generally gone in favour of the home side although last season the Raiders did the double over the Reds winning at the Rec by 17-28 and in Worthing by 68-21(a game that was tied at half-time). Earlier this season though the Reds won at Worthing by the convincing margin of 19-30.

The Reds come into the game after last Saturdays away win at Barnes. This victory made it 8 wins in 9 league outings for the Reds and the squad will be determined to keep the good run going. This leaves the Reds in 4th place with 58 points. The Reds top points scorer so far is Fraser Honey on 127 and the top try scorer is Matt Shepherd with 7. Only one player, Jack Simmons has played in all of the 17 league matches.
Former Players Re-Union

Big day at the Rec today and there will be with many familiar, but somewhat older looking, faces on show as we are holding a players reunion. All former players are invited no matter what team you played for when wearing the famous red shirt, from the Ladies Team to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd sides.
