Redruth v Esher
Saturday 7th September 2019 – Kick-off 3.00pm
Referee: James Milliner.
Assistant Referees: Kevin Williams & Andy Bickle.
On Saturday the Reds welcome back to the Recreation ground Esher who we last played in the 2009-2010 season in National 1. This was the year Esher stormed to promotion winning 28 of their 29 games. They didn’t even play their rearranged match against Cinderford their domination of the league being so complete. For the record Esher did the double over the Reds winning at the Rec by 23-17 and up in London by 29-5.
Esher return to the Rec having being demoted from National 1 despite winning 11 fixtures, they finished an agonising 3 points from safety. Their pre-season form has looked impressive with a 28-17 win at Canterbury and a 38-0 defeat by former Championship side Richmond.
The Redruth pre-season has also gone well also with wins over Penryn, Launceston and St.Austell. The most impressive performance though came in defeat when the Reds held the powerful Cornish Pirates side to only 36 points with a great display of determined committed defence.
Some much for pre-season, which we have seen from previous years can be a great pointer to the year ahead or mean precisely nothing!
Why not get to the ground early and watch the colts:
