Redruth 1st XV make the long trip to Hinckley this coming weekend in the penultimate match of the 2025/6 season. They travel safe in the knowledge that, whatever the results of the final games elsewhere, they have secured National League Two rugby at Redruth for another season.
If they can replicate last week’s barnstorming second half against Chester, when the opposition not only failed to score, but made only a couple of incursions into the Redruth 22, then there is no reason why they cannot add some more points to the season’s total.
Hinckley will be tough opposition. They have been one of the pacesetters in the league all season and have lost only one game at home, a 34-24 defeat by our friends down the road back in September. Last week they won 77-31 at Exeter University running in 11 tries in the process. That result means Exeter’s only chance of survival is to make the play-off place.
Our last meeting was on home ground back in December when the Reds put in another storming performance to beat Hinckley 27-10. It can be done.
