The Reds 1st XV are back on the road this coming Saturday with a trip to the south-west of Bristol to face Old Redcliffians. This is the second of three consecutive games against clubs below us in the league table, all of which we need to win to pull ourselves back up the ladder. Last week we demolished Syston 33-5 to pick up a valuable five points.
Old Redcliffians sit four points below us in the table but will be buoyed up by a 36-29 win on the road at Chester last week. Their visit to Redruth back in October, in the teeth of Gale Amy, saw things level at half time but the Reds turned on the afterburners after the break and ran in three tries to to record a 29-7 win.
We first played Old Redcliffians in season 2017/18 following their promotion into National League Two West and they have proved tough opponents ever since. Our two sides have faced each other 12 times with the record currently standing at 6 wins each. We only played once in 2019/20 because of the plague.
The Reds have racked up just one away win so far and that was a 26-14 victory in October 2022.
Old Reds play their rugby at Scotland Road in the Brislington district of the city where they have been since 1968.
