This weekend the Reds make the 570 mile round trip to take on Hinckley RFC in Leicestershire.
Hinckley run the full complement and more of rugby sides and is a club where all can find their standard to enjoy the game. They have; 3 senior men's sides, an U20 side, walking rugby, touch rugby, a full colts & mini/junior set up, a Women's side, woman's walking rugby and 4 girls age group teams. To cope with all those teams there are 3 pitches, one of which is floodlit and something called 'bog' (your guess is as good sas mine). Off the pitch they have a very impressive clubhouse featuring 'The Rugby Suite' capacity 60 people seated and 'The Main Suite' capacity 300 people seated. Pitch side there is a small grandstand to protect the faithful from the elements.
Last season was the first between the two clubs and the Reds won both matches comfortably, away by 41-7 and at home by 39-5, current form would suggest a much closer contest on Saturday. Talking of which Hinkley, like the Reds, have won 2 out of 3 so far. A narrow 20-19 win at Bournville and a 45-17 hammering of Barnstaple fell either side of a home 15-26 defeat at the hands of local rivals Leicester Lions. This leaves them in 7th place on 9 points.

After the hiccup against Exeter University the Reds got back to winning ways last Saturday with a 41-31 win over Hornets RFC. This was a topsy/turvey sort of match with the teams taking it in turns to score. That said despite not being able to completely put way their opponents the Reds always looked like running out winners and that's how it proved. Mark Grubb, 100 games and Craig Williams, 300 games, celebrated their milestones by leading the team out to great applause from the home supporters, as it was their 'special day' the man-of-the-match award of course went to Fraser Honey!! Fraser did have a good game but ........ Special mention should also be made of Adam Hall stepping in at scrum-half and doing a sterling job. At this early stage of the season Fraser Honey has already notched up 38 points and there are 4 players on 2 tries, Dean Bonds, Will Trewin, Kyle Bradley and of course Richard Brown.
