On Saturday Redruth welcome to the Recreation Ground Hinckley RFC who make the long trip to Cornwall from Leicestershire.
Hinckley are having an excellent season so far, they have won 10 and drawn 1 of their 13 matches. Their only two defeats have come against local rivals and league leaders Leicester Lions and away at 2nd place Clifton. Hinckley are currently in 3rd place with 51 points with a surprisingly small +79 points difference which indicates they have had a number of close matches.
Last week Hinckley won at home to Barnstaple by 38-5.
Hinckley play in yellow and black hoops and their nickname is 'The Hornets' which must make things somewhat confusing when they come up against Hornets RFC!
Their kicker is Joseph Wilson (full-back) who has 77 points and their top try scorer is Alexander Salt (No.8) on 7.
The fixture earlier in the season saw Hinckley edge out the Reds by 31-25.
The Reds come into this match after an interesting 38-27 win at Hornets RFC. The Reds had an incredible 28 points on the board after 24 mins of this match which was enough to ensure the win despite a spirited fight back from the home side. A similar start on Saturday would be perfectly acceptable!
This win puts the Reds up to 4th place on 51 points with a +201 points difference and only behind Hinckley by virtue of their drawn match.
Leicester Lions are currently top on 66 points 11 clear of 2nd place Clifton.
Stats
Fraser Honey continues to rack up the points and is now on 151 which makes him the 2nd highest scorer in the whole of the National Leagues only 1 behind Sam Morely (Esher). The top try scorers are Dean Bonds, Will Trewin and Richard Brown all on 9 with the best in National 2 West being a number of players on 10.
Redruth are the top scorers at home on 313 points just 16 ahead of Clifton RFC.
Look out for team news on Friday.
