Hopefully the weather will behave this coming weekend and allow us to replay the fixture against Exeter University that had to be called off last Friday. We will have to wait a little longer to see our first evening league game under lights.

This will be the second encounter between the two sides this season. Back in October the Reds lost 46-40 at the Topsham ground after rather letting the students dominate the first quarter by running in three unanswered tries.

Exeter Uni are currently in 12th place which is where they ended up at the end of last season although their 12 point buffer over Bournville saw them well clear of relegation. It is always something of a lottery with student sides as to what sort of team will turn up but they have proved themselves to be speedy in the back division so a heavy ground will not necessarily be to their liking.

Redruth dropped to 11th place last weekend because of the missed game. This followed a 31-24 defeat at Old Redcliffians which brought just two points. The boys will be looking to gain a decisive win this coming to hoist themselves a couple of places up the table.

A big cheer for Jess Thomsett who has made 200 appearances for the club. A true Red indeed.
