Trelawney’s Army will once again march on the capital.

After their thumping 78-12 win over Hampshire at Redruth, on Saturday Cornwall secured their place in the final with a 24-50 away win over Hertfordshire. The game was in the balance at half-time with the score at 19-21 but a dominant 2nd half performance gave the men in black and gold a deserved victory. Match reports from both matches can be found on the CRFU website, cut and paste the links below.

Redruth RFC were well represented with 13 players in the squad against Hampshire and 12 who took the field at Hertford and of course all were guided by forwards coach Chris Fuca. A special mention must go to former Redruth Colt Ben Hilton who made his 50th appearance for Cornwall on Saturday, a great achievement in the modern era.

Cornwall will have a tough challenge in the final as they will be up against Cheshire who have drawn their side from the successful Caldy and Sale outfits who finished 1st and 2nd in National League 1.

Cornwall will be joined on finals day by the Cornwall Women’s side who reached the Gill Burns Division 3 final by beating Somerset 28-27 in a nail biting encounter at Hayle last Saturday. Unfortunately the Ladies final will be played at Richmond RFC and not Twickenham. Cornwall will be facing Notts, Lincs and Derby with a 2.15 KO so with the men’s KO being 3pm the Cornish support will have to choose their match.
