Hinckley, known as the Hornets due to their ‘black and gold’ colours (how dare they!), play their rugby at Leicester Road, in south-west Leicestershire. So just the 566 mile round trip and a Friday evening start for the Reds!
Hinckley like Leicester Lions have level transferred from National 2 North and in the curtailed 2019/2020 season finished in a very creditable 3rd place so would be expecting to do well against their new southern opponents. Surprisingly then Hinckley have had a poor start to the season losing their first two home matches, against Barnes by 24 – 43 and by a narrow 26-32 against unbeaten Old Albanian. They will not be keen to make it 3 in a row in what is almost certainly the first meeting between the two clubs.
The Reds will travel in good spirits having won both of their opening matches against Leicester Lions by at home by 27 - 5 and then away at Barnes by 10 -24.
The Reds, like Hinckley have had a game against Henley postponed but they kept busy with a friendly against Exeter University.
Look out for team news on this site and Facebook on Friday morning.
