Redruth v Bury St.Edmunds
Saturday 17th November 2018 – Kick-off 2pm
On Saturday the Reds welcome Bury St. Edmunds who will make the long trip from Suffolk. Many will remember Bury’s first trip to Redruth when after torrential rain in the morning the pitch seemed more suited to water polo than rugby. Referee Sarah Cox wasn’t keen on the match going ahead, but both sides managed to persuade her that the conditions weren’t that bad, just a bit damp underfoot! Fortunately nobody drowned! For the record Redruth won 22–8, not that anybody could tell who was who at the end. Follow the link for a great picture of Kyle Marriott receiving his Man of the Match award from Tracey Page who didn’t seem that keen on getting too close to Kyle! http://www.redruthrugbyclub.co.uk/teams/38088/match-centre/1-1559966 Incidentally Sarah Cox took charge of her 1st Premiership match a few weeks ago; bet she still remembers this one though!
Bury currently sit in 11th place with 4 wins to their name, their best result of the season has to be the 39–27 away win against Old Albanian. Their man with the boot is Cameron Ritchie with 71 points to his name and the top try scorers are Mark Kohler, Jaid Wiltshire and Finlay Sharp with 5.
For the Reds, top try scorer so far is Ben Fox with 4 and Arron Simmonds leads the way with the boot on 57 points.
Last season the home team claimed the win in both fixtures; the Reds edging the first encounter 12–9 and then Bury getting their revenge with a 27-14 victory in the return.
Both sides have had sticky periods of late and will be highly motivated to grab the points on Saturday.
Come on you Reds.
