On Friday evening Redruth RFC set out on the long trip to Loughborough Students RFC who play their rugby at the famous University in the county of Leicestershire.

Saturday will be Redruth's second visit to Loughborough after last seasons epic when the Reds won due to a last kick of the game penalty by Fraser Honey. Loughborough like most student sides play a very fast game and try to take full advantage of their 3G pitch.
This Students are having an OK season currently sitting 10th place with 41 points having won 6 of their 18 matches. Their points difference is +23 due some big home wins, 70-0 v Dudley Kingswinford, 54-26 v Chester and 82-25 against Camborne. Like Exeter University you never know how strong the Students will be and at full strength they can challenge the best sides in the league.
The students kicker is Alex Wainwright (Fly-Half) who has 78 points and their top try scorer is Theodore Maxell (No.8) with 10.
Back in October at the Rec Redruth came out on top by 40-31.

The Reds will be looking to continue their good form that has seen them win four of the last five matches. This weeks game on the 3G will be somewhat different though to last weeks win over Chester in very heavy conditions.
Redruth are now in 7th place with 54 points having won 10 and drawn 2 of their 18 matches.

Stats: Frankie Nowell leads the try charts with 7 just ahead of Ben Fox and Mat Pritchard with 6, Rhys Brownfield just tops the scoring list with 43.

Top of the Table: Luctonians are in pole position with 78 points 6 ahead of Dings who look to be their only challengers, the two sides meet on 24th Feb at Lucs in what could be a title decider.
