On Saturday Redruth welcome to the Recreation Ground our old friends from BristolClifton RFC with a 2pm Kick-off.
It's going to be a busy day with the spectacle of the big trucks parked around the ground and the players reunion this is not one to miss.
Our visitors need no introduction at Redruth these days the two sides having played each other many times since the onset of league rugby.
Clifton are again having a very good season and have won 9 of their 15 matches and drawn 2. This puts them in 4th place with 52 points. Their best win probably came against 3rd place Hinckley who they beat 49-14 up in Leicestershire. Cliftons top try scorer is Brad Talbot (No.8) 8 and their top points score is Luke Cousins (Fly-Half) with 69.
Matches between these two sides always seem to be exciting with lots of drama and this was again the case earlier in the season when the two sides fought out a 31-31 draw.
Last Saturday Clifton won 38-29 at our neighbours Camborne.
Last week the Reds put up a good performance at league leader Luctonians and can feel somewhat hard done by to not get anything out of the game. Losing 21-3 at half-time the Reds had much the better of the 2nd period and were denied a bonus point when 13 man Luctonians intercepted with the last play of the game and went the entire length of the pitch to give the score line a distorted look. The Reds are now in 8th place having won 7 and drawn 2, and have 40 points.
The Reds leading try scorer is Frankie Nowell on 7 with Ben Fox hot on his heels with 6, Jordan Gott tops the points tally with 36.
Look out for team news on Friday.
