His career started at Truro RFC through the age groups up to colts. This enabled him to play England U18’s clubs and whilst at Loughborough University he played rugby in their senior squad. Jovin represented the Royal Navy Rugby team in 2011 including in the inaugural armed forces rugby world cup.

He decided to join Redruth RFC having left the Navy earlier this year and relocating back to Cornwall with his wife. His good friend and head coach, Pale Nonu spoke with Jovin upon his relocation, and knowing other squad members (Richard Brown, Ed Pascoe and Matt Bowden) it seemed like the most sensible thing to do for Jovin!
