Great win for Cornwall over a Kent side packed with National League players.

A Cornwall side containing 7 current Reds and 5 former Reds survive a tense finish to take the victory over Kent.

Cornwall, playing into a stiff breeze, got off to a great start with a Sam Stevens try converted by Fraser Honey. Kent though hit back quickly with a converted try of their own. Surprisingly that was to be the last score of the half and Cornwall were pleased to go in at half time with the scores level at 7 all.

Cornwall again got off to a fast start taking the lead with a Fraser Honey penalty. Kent then hit back and, after a succession of penalties in the away 22, Jack Oulton got a team yellow card. The pressure finally told in the form of a Kent penalty try. Cornwall though were not to be beaten and whilst down to 14 men forced the pace. A yellow card to Kent and Cornwall turned on the pressure with a Brad Howe try following a rolling maul from a line out. Cornwall ahead at 14 - 15. Kent again struck back and were asking a lot of questions with multiple phases in the Cornwall half, that was until they forgot that Alex Ducker was on the field. As he seems to do in every game, the flying Ducker snaffled a Kent pass and raced 60 metres for a try under the posts, Fraser Honey adding the extras. Cornwall ahead 14 - 22 and things were looking good. Kent had other ideas and hit back with a converted try with only 7 mins left on the clock. Only 1 point between the teams, a tense finish was to follow. Cornwall though managed to gain a foothold in the Kent half despite the home side threatening to break out at any point. An injury time penalty by Fraser Honey gave Cornwall a 4 point lead and they saw out the game to the delight of Trelawneys Army.

All roads lead to Redruth for next weeks game against Hertfordshire.
